Superintendent Rob Sanders updated the board on a curriculum support tool the district is piloting; he said the district has “20 trial licenses” and is using the product particularly in special education to generate individualized lesson plans. Sanders said the tool can create lesson plans tailored to grade level and to differentiated student needs.

Human-resources remarks to the board reported active job postings of 2 administrative positions, 24 certified openings and 10 classified openings; the HR speaker said certified openings have been reduced from about 36 at the prior meeting to 24.

Bob Beiersdorf, identified in the meeting as the Colorado general manager for Outlook Communications, said the donation came from a $50 contribution option offered to customers who signed up for Allo service last fall. “What we have for you tonight is something that we think is kind of special,” Beiersdorf told the board when presenting the check.

Beiersdorf described Fort Morgan as one of the company’s earliest and most engaged communities in Colorado, saying the company now serves more than 50% of residential customers in town and about 38% of local businesses. “Being local is one of our four core values,” he said, adding, “We’ll always be here to help support education.”
