Round Lake Beach announces diverse summer events for 2025 including Elote Fest and Lucha Libre

During the recent Round Lake Beach Village Board meeting on April 21, 2025, community engagement and upcoming events took center stage, highlighting the village's commitment to fostering a vibrant local culture. The discussions revealed a series of exciting activities planned for the summer season, aimed at bringing residents together and enhancing community spirit.

One of the key announcements was the introduction of the "Forever Young RLB" program, designed for residents aged 55 and older. This initiative will feature lunch and entertainment on the fourth Thursday of each month from May through October, providing a social outlet for seniors in the community. Additionally, the El Mercadito Farmers Market will return, operating every other Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM at the lakefront, offering fresh produce and local goods.

The village is also set to unveil a new outdoor patio at the Civic Center, where live music will be featured on an outdoor stage. This initiative aims to create a lively atmosphere for residents to enjoy food and drinks, regardless of the weather, thanks to the availability of an indoor stage as well.

Among the highlights of the summer performance series is the band "Bond Journey," which will perform from June through August. The series promises to deliver a range of entertainment options, including Family Fun Fridays, which will continue to engage families with activities from 1 to 2 PM.

The highly anticipated Beachfest will take place starting July 5, featuring live music, food, drinks, and a fireworks show organized in collaboration with the Round Lake Area Park District. Furthermore, the Elote Fest is set to return from August 22 to 24, boasting an expanded lineup of live music, food vendors, and a carnival, along with a spectacular musical light drone show that has gained popularity in previous years.

In addition to these community events, the meeting also touched on the upcoming Lucha Libre wrestling event scheduled for April 27, 2025, which is expected to draw significant interest.
