Limestone County Schools celebrates district honor band and All State band selections

The Limestone County Schools Board meeting on April 15, 2025, highlighted the achievements of local student musicians, recognizing their exceptional talents in band performances.

During the meeting, the board celebrated the accomplishments of Braxton Moore, an eighth grader from West Limestone, who earned a spot in the Alabama District Honor Band. This honor acknowledges outstanding high school musicians, and Moore's recognition marks a significant achievement for a middle school student.

Additionally, the board acknowledged three students selected for the prestigious Alabama All-State Band, which features the top band students in the state chosen through auditions. The recognized students included Blake Talbert from Ardmore High School, Sam Coggan from Clements High School, and Jay Lamore from Tanner High School. Each student was accompanied by their respective band directors, with Sam Coggan's director, Matthew Mazur, unable to attend. District 2 board member Greta Kilgore joined Coggan in celebrating his achievement.

These recognitions not only highlight the individual talents of the students but also emphasize the strong music programs within Limestone County Schools, providing students with valuable opportunities to perform and collaborate with skilled conductors. The board's acknowledgment of these achievements reflects the community's commitment to supporting the arts in education.
