Local Filmmaker Victor launches inspirational soccer movie in Norwood

A new film project inspired by a local girls' soccer team is set to bring Hollywood to Norwood, Massachusetts. During the recent Board of Selectmen meeting, Victor, a Norwood resident and producer, shared details about the film, which is based on a true story of perseverance and teamwork. The narrative follows a soccer team that, despite facing challenges, rose to success under the guidance of an orthodontist coach.

Victor emphasized the film's goal: to inspire young athletes, particularly those who may feel discouraged due to body image issues. "Our main goal is to show that you can do anything you want," he stated, highlighting the film's focus on inclusivity and empowerment.

Filming is tentatively scheduled for September, with plans to utilize local soccer fields during the mornings to avoid conflicts with high school and youth soccer practices. The production aims to engage the community, featuring eight actors from Norwood and promising to donate a portion of profits to Norwood Youth Soccer.

The film is not just a local endeavor; it aims for broader distribution, potentially reaching platforms like Amazon. Victor expressed excitement about showcasing the film at local venues, including the Terrain Community Theater, once production wraps up.
