Wauwatosa officials outline affordable housing goals and funding strategies

The Wauwatosa City Council meeting on April 22, 2025, focused on advancing housing goals and enhancing community collaboration. City officials acknowledged ongoing discussions with SB Friedman to update previous housing studies. They aim to define affordable housing more clearly and establish concrete goals. The Community Development Authority (CDA) has begun drafting an affordable housing fund policy, which will outline funding levels and types of housing supported by the city. Currently, approximately $600,000 is available for affordable housing initiatives, with an additional $500,000 expected upon the closure of a related project.
