Previous awards were granted for a documentary celebrating the museum's tenth anniversary and for the conservation of a significant painting by renowned artist G. P. Healy, depicting early Elmhurst resident Jane Bryant.
Museum Director Oberg praised the efforts of the entire team, including curator Sarah Cox and consulting curator Leslie Goddard, emphasizing their dedication and hard work that contributed to the exhibition's success. He noted that the exhibition's popularity transformed what is typically a slow month into the busiest period for the museum.
The meeting also acknowledged the support of the Elmhurst Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit organization that plays a crucial role in fundraising and enhancing the museum's capabilities. The recognition of the museum's achievements not only celebrates its contributions to local culture but also underscores the importance of community support in fostering such initiatives.
As the Elmhurst History Museum continues to receive accolades, it reinforces its position as a vital cultural institution within the community, promising to engage and inspire residents and visitors alike.
