2 Rivers police recognize life-saving efforts at annual awards banquet

The Two Rivers City Council meeting on April 21, 2025, celebrated remarkable acts of bravery and service, highlighting the dedication of local officers and citizens. During the meeting, several awards were presented to recognize life-saving efforts that made a significant impact on the community.

Officer Bridal Dimock received accolades for his quick response to a medical emergency at McDonald's on January 26, where he successfully revived a man who was not breathing. Similarly, Officer Seth Tobison was honored for his actions on March 30, 2024, when he intervened during an overdose situation, saving a life while ensuring the safety of others nearby.

Another standout, Officer Justin Krieger, was recognized for his courageous actions on June 3, 2024, when he forced entry into a room to save a person attempting self-harm. His swift thinking not only saved a life but also ensured the individual received necessary care.

Officer Justin Jackson also received a merit award for his heroic efforts on August 18, 2024, when he swam into treacherous waters of Lake Michigan to rescue two struggling swimmers, demonstrating exceptional bravery despite personal risk.

In addition to the officers, community members Steven Michael Junior and Derek Kielkoff were honored for their heroic actions in assisting Jackson during the rescue. Their teamwork and courage exemplified the spirit of community support in times of crisis.
