Event planners finalize details for Kids Corner at upcoming community Art Walk

The City of Middleton's Arts Committee meeting on April 17, 2025, showcased a vibrant lineup for the upcoming Kids' Corner at the annual Art Walk, with exciting activities and entertainment planned for families.

Committee members confirmed that Lindsay will host caricature sessions, while Radiant Smiles will provide face painting and balloon twisting. Additionally, the Historic Society will engage children with hat-making and tote bag crafting, alongside a display titled "The History We Carry." Notably, children's musician Mister Jim is set to perform from 3 to 5 PM, adding a musical flair to the festivities.

A new request from the Girl Scouts to set up a booth for an art project was discussed, although a final decision on their participation is pending. The committee is considering accommodating them in the afternoon, which would enhance the interactive offerings for kids.

Despite a decrease in sponsorships this year, down from $10,000 to $6,000, the committee remains optimistic. They have secured 64 artists for the Art Walk, with one spot still available, and are working on finalizing logistical details, including a map for the event. The committee is also addressing technical needs, ensuring sufficient electrical outlets for artists and food vendors.

As preparations continue, the committee is focused on creating a memorable experience for attendees, with a mix of art, history, and community engagement at the forefront of this year’s event.
