Tiffin City Engineer outlines $27.6M infrastructure plans and funding sources

The Tiffin City Council meeting on April 23, 2025, highlighted significant developments in long-term infrastructure planning and funding for the city. City Engineer Matt Watson presented an overview of ongoing and future projects, emphasizing the importance of strategic planning for Tiffin's infrastructure, which includes roads, bridges, and sewers.

The council also discussed the upcoming road and bridge levy on the May 6 ballot. This levy is essential for continuing infrastructure improvements, with annual revenues estimated between $1.1 million and $1.5 million. In the past year, the city was able to repair 24 streets, and plans for 2025 include paving an additional 28 streets. The levy not only supports local projects but also increases the likelihood of securing additional state and federal funding, which has amounted to over $7.7 million since 2018.
