Toledo Police Chief Trendley reports significant crime reductions in quarterly update

Toledo's Public Safety Committee meeting on April 23, 2025, highlighted significant advancements in crime reduction and community engagement, as reported by Police Chief Trendley. The Toledo Police Department presented its quarterly report, revealing a remarkable 60% decrease in homicides and a 38% reduction in persons shot compared to the same period last year. While robberies saw an 8% increase initially, targeted efforts have since reduced this figure by 5%.

Chief Trendley emphasized the importance of community interaction, announcing the initiation of designated foot patrols in the Scott Park and Central District areas, which began on April 1.
