Columbus Metropolitan Club hosts inaugural Jane Scott Legacy Forum honoring community leaders

The Columbus Metropolitan Club held its inaugural Jane Scott Legacy and Civic Engagement Forum on April 23, 2025, celebrating community leaders and honoring the legacy of Jane Scott, the former president and CEO of CMC. The event commenced with welcoming remarks from Carrie Schmidt, managing partner of Pl Clinical Philanthropy and a member of the CMC Board of Trustees. Schmidt expressed gratitude for the attendees and highlighted the significance of the forum in recognizing community contributions.

During the opening, Schmidt acknowledged Jane Scott's two-decade leadership at CMC and invited her to stand for recognition, emphasizing the importance of her work in fostering community engagement. The forum also celebrated Sophia Pfiffner, the current CEO and president of CMC, who was recently named one of Central Ohio's Most Influential Women of Color by Mahogany Magazine.

The event was supported by various sponsors, including Nationwide as the presenting sponsor, along with the Columbus Landmarks Foundation, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, the Edwards Companies, Encova Insurance, Huntington, SWIFT Construction, and the United Way of Central Ohio. Additionally, the livestream of the forum was sponsored by the Center for Human Kindness at the Columbus Foundation, with the Columbus Dispatch serving as the livestream partner.

As the meeting transitioned to the main agenda, Schmidt noted the importance of the discussions to follow, setting the stage for a productive dialogue on civic engagement and community leadership.
