Edinburgh North and Robert Vela High Schools honored for championship successes

The Edinburg CISD Regular Board Meeting on April 22, 2025, highlighted significant achievements in the district's fine arts programs, particularly in the area of indoor guard competitions. The meeting recognized the outstanding performances of students from Edinburgh North High School and Robert Vela High School.

During the session, it was announced that the indoor guard from Edinburgh North advanced to the Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC) state championships held at Texas A&M University. Additionally, the Edinburg High School Bobcat varsity guard received special recognition for their impressive season, finishing in third place and earning a bronze medal. This achievement marks the second consecutive year that the Edinburg High School guard has medaled, making them the first team in the school's history to achieve back-to-back medals.

The board expressed pride in the accomplishments of these students, emphasizing the importance of supporting fine arts programs within the district.
