Tomball Fire Rescue honors award recipients at recent council meeting

Tomball Fire Rescue celebrated its top performers at the April 21 City Council meeting, highlighting the dedication and achievements of its members. Chief Joe Zaccora presented awards to several firefighters, including Driver Operator Anthony Warden, who received both the Battalion Chief's Award and the Silver Badge Award, voted on by his peers for outstanding performance. Deputy Fire Marshal Jeremiah Wittenberg was honored with the Leo H. Gammon Fire and Life Safety Award for his efforts in promoting fire safety, while Battalion Chief Steven Feiner was recognized for his leadership on significant projects, including the development of the department's CAD system.

In addition to the awards, the council discussed upcoming community events, including Spring Cleanup Week and the Rails and Tails Mudbug Festival, aimed at fostering community engagement and environmental responsibility. The meeting also featured reports on recent activities, such as the successful Tidy Up Tomball event, where over 300 volunteers collected approximately 7,000 pounds of trash, reinforcing the city's commitment to cleanliness and beautification.
