Vail Middle School hosts inclusive Fiesta parade to raise awareness among students

Budget planning and program preservation took center stage at the Northside ISD Board Meeting on April 22, 2025, as officials addressed concerns about potential cuts amid ongoing financial evaluations. Superintendent Dr. Kraft emphasized the district's commitment to protecting jobs and educational programs while navigating a "fluid planning phase" influenced by House Bill 2 and Senate Bill 2, which are pivotal to the district's financial future.

Dr. Kraft reassured attendees that while some adjustments may be necessary, such as moving certain activities to after-school programs, the district aims to maintain essential services and classes that students desire. "We are trying hard not to cut programs," he stated, acknowledging the rumors circulating within the community. The district is actively collaborating with human resources and school campuses to ensure transparency and effective communication during this transitional period.

In addition to budget discussions, the meeting highlighted the vibrant community spirit at Vail Middle School, where students organized a "Raising Awareness Parade" to promote inclusivity.
