Dallas Fritz recites Pledge of Allegiance on WBFJ radio for Special Children's School

In a heartwarming display of inclusion and technology, third grader Dallas Fritz has become a star at the Special Children's School in Winston Salem. Dallas, who leads the Pledge of Allegiance for his class daily, recently had the unique opportunity to recite the pledge on the radio for thousands of listeners during the morning show on 89.3 WBFJ, as part of their CC's Pizza Pledge initiative.

Dallas's journey to this moment began with a simple classroom routine. Each day, his teacher, Mrs. Ross, incorporates circle time to foster interaction among students. Initially, Dallas and his classmates listened to a video of the pledge, as many students in the class faced communication challenges. However, a breakthrough occurred when a family introduced a communication device that allowed Dallas to engage more actively in the classroom.

Now, with the help of this technology, Dallas proudly recites the pledge using his device, while a fellow student holds the flag. This daily ritual not only boosts Dallas's confidence but also enhances the classroom experience for all students. Mrs. Ross expressed gratitude for Dallas's consistent attendance and the support of her dedicated team, which has made this achievement possible.

As part of the CC's Pizza Pledge program, a different elementary class is selected each week to record their pledge, with the reward of a pizza party later in the day. This initiative not only celebrates patriotism but also highlights the importance of inclusivity in education, showcasing how technology can empower students with diverse needs.
