Lake Dallas track teams break multiple school records at regional meets

The Lake Dallas Independent School District (ISD) Board Meeting held on April 21, 2025, showcased significant achievements in athletics and community engagement, reflecting the district's commitment to student success.

The meeting commenced with a heartfelt acknowledgment from the athletic director, Scott Head, who expressed gratitude for the support received from the administration and parents. He highlighted the accomplishments of the track team, particularly senior Jaishawn Hardeman, who qualified for regionals in both the 100 and 200 meters, setting a school record of 21.96 seconds before being bested by teammate Isaiah Morrison. The boys' team collectively broke six school records this season, marking a notable improvement from previous years.

Girls' track coach Brittany Robson also shared her team's successes, including area qualifiers and record-breaking performances. Notably, Haley Jones shattered a 35-year-old school record in the 300-meter hurdles, while the girls' 4x200 meter relay team set a new record, demonstrating the growth and talent within the program.

Following the athletic recognitions, Chief Operations Officer John Modica presented the Falcon Insider Program, which offers community members a behind-the-scenes look at the district's operations. Participants engaged with various departments, gaining insights into the daily workings that support student learning. Modica recognized several community members who completed the program, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in education.

The meeting concluded with the recognition of the April Teachers and Employees of the Month, further underscoring the district's appreciation for its staff. As the board prepared to enter executive session, the meeting highlighted the ongoing dedication of Lake Dallas ISD to fostering a supportive and successful educational environment for its students.
