On April 24, 2025, the Tulsa Development Authority convened to discuss significant developments in the city, particularly focusing on the ongoing construction of a new center for artificial intelligence (AI) and entrepreneurship. The project, originally conceived as the Greenwood Entrepreneurship Incubator, has evolved due to funding requirements. The Economic Development Administration's stipulation against the term "incubator" led to a rebranding, but the core mission remains intact: to provide business assistance with a modern AI focus. The center will feature partnerships with organizations like Black Tech Street and Microsoft, who will operate an AI lab within the facility.

Construction has been challenging, with the building undergoing redevelopment in phases. The team encountered unexpected issues, including the discovery of a second basement and significant water accumulation that required removal before work could proceed. Despite these hurdles, the project is currently in its third phase, which includes exterior work and stair construction, with the final phase targeting interior completion by August.

The center will not only serve as a hub for technological advancement but will also include community-oriented spaces, such as North Tulsa's first drive-through coffee shop and areas for meetings and collaboration. This initiative is supported by a $1 million allocation from Tulsa County's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, highlighting the local government's commitment to economic development in the region.
