Chris Anderson endorses Warren County comprehensive plan for sustainable development

During the recent Warren County Board of Supervisors meeting, community members voiced their support for the final draft of the Warren County comprehensive plan, highlighting its importance for future development and conservation efforts. Chris Anderson, the Page and Warren County Coordinator for the Alliance for the Shenandoah Valley, praised the plan for its organization and visual appeal, noting that it will serve as a guiding document for the next 5 to 20 years.

Anderson emphasized the plan's commitment to protecting natural resources, supporting agriculture, and directing development towards urban areas to maintain the rural character of the community. A significant point of discussion was the decision to keep a parcel of land north of the Family Dollar Distribution Center designated for agricultural use rather than industrial development, a move that aligns with the community's values and goals.
