The City of Struthers is gearing up for a busy month of community engagement and environmental initiatives, as discussed in the recent Council Caucus meeting held on April 25, 2025. One of the most notable events is the upcoming Cleanup Day scheduled for Saturday, May 31, from 8 AM to 12 PM at the Stroller Street garage. Residents can dispose of tires for just a dollar each, provided they show proof of residency. Additionally, an appliance drive will be hosted by Southside Recycling, and Habitat for Humanity will be on-site to collect furniture donations.
The city is also set to receive $18,548 in grant funding from the H2 Ohio Rivers Chloride Program, aimed at improving environmental practices. This funding will be used to purchase new salt application equipment, which will help reduce the city’s environmental impact while alleviating costs for local governments.
