New Providence honors 2024-2025 art and music excellence awardees

The New Providence Board of Education celebrated the artistic and musical achievements of its students during a recent meeting, highlighting the importance of creativity and collaboration in education. The event recognized recipients of the Certificate of Excellence in Visual Arts for the 2024 and 2025 school years, showcasing the talents of students who excel in art and design.

Among the honorees, Adam Moy received a national silver medal and a gold key in digital art from the prestigious Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, while fellow student Cameron Better also earned a gold key. Additional students, including Michael Aranda, Sophia, and Mia, received honorable mentions, reflecting the high level of creativity and skill present in New Providence's art programs.

The meeting also acknowledged the accomplishments of young musicians who participated in regional and All State ensembles. Eighteen students represented New Providence in the New Jersey Music Educators Association's regional auditions, with selections made based on their exceptional performance skills. Notable participants included Abigail Bozhardt and Olivia Huang, who were chosen for the intermediate region orchestra, and Dan Ryzick, who earned a spot in the High School Region Symphonic Band.

Furthermore, 21 students were recognized for their selection in All State ensembles, a prestigious honor that underscores their dedication and talent in music. This group included students from various grade levels, showcasing the breadth of musical talent within the district.

The Board expressed pride in these students' achievements, emphasizing the importance of continuing their education in the arts. The recognition of these young artists and musicians not only celebrates individual accomplishments but also highlights New Providence's commitment to fostering creativity and collaboration in its schools.
