Jennifer Voss outlines Park Campus PAC initiatives and student achievements

In a vibrant gathering at the Grayslake CCSD 46 Board of Education meeting, the Park Campus community showcased its commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Jennifer Voss, the Dean of Students and leader of the PAC (Parent Advisory Committee), took center stage to share the exciting developments and upcoming events at Park Campus.

Voss highlighted the active involvement of seventh and eighth graders in various school activities, emphasizing their role in building community spirit. The students have participated in holiday celebrations and organized school-wide bingo, while also contributing to the preparation of goodie bags for the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) testing, which took place from April 7 to April 14. These good luck bags, filled with motivational items, aimed to create a supportive atmosphere for students during testing.

Looking ahead, Voss outlined a series of engaging events, including a Family Reading Night on April 30, a seventh and eighth-grade band concert on May 13, and an eighth-grade dance on May 9. The excitement culminates with an eighth-grade picnic and award ceremony on May 29, marking significant milestones for the students.

The presentation also featured insights from a recent survey of eighth graders, revealing their favorite subjects and activities. Math and English Language Arts topped the list, with students praising their teachers for making learning enjoyable. Science labs, particularly the helmet-building project, and physical education activities like volleyball were also highlighted as favorites, showcasing the diverse interests of the students.

Voss concluded by expressing gratitude to the Board of Education and the community for their support, emphasizing the importance of student voices in shaping a thriving educational environment. The meeting not only celebrated past achievements but also set the stage for future initiatives, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that defines Park Campus.
