A standout athlete, Alita has excelled in track and soccer, achieving significant milestones and contributing over 200 volunteer hours to various community organizations. She plans to pursue a degree in biology.
The meeting also recognized Alexander Olivares, named the 2025 Harlandale ISD Teacher of the Year. With over a decade of experience, Olivares is noted for his commitment to academic excellence and student leadership, teaching U.S. history and serving as a head baseball coach.
The Harlandale High School media students were acknowledged for their achievements at this year's Bear Fest, where they received nominations for multiple categories and won the award for Best Sound. Their teacher, Michael Cantu, was commended for guiding these talented students.
Additionally, the Harlandale ISD Communications Department received statewide recognition at the Texas School Public Relations Association State Conference, earning ten star awards for outstanding work in school communications, including the prestigious Best of Category for a published news release.
The meeting concluded with congratulations to two Adams Elementary students, Mia Perez and Yasmin Padriana, for their recognition in the River Parade art contest, further highlighting the district's commitment to fostering creativity and talent among its students.
