Mayor Pisac honors Lisle High School Science Olympiad team for state championship

The Village of Lisle Board Meeting held on April 17, 2025, commenced with a celebratory proclamation honoring the Lisle High School Science Olympiad team for their remarkable achievements. Mayor Christopher R. Pisac led the recognition, inviting members of the team and the school board president to the podium.

The proclamation highlighted the team's outstanding performance, noting their first-place finish at the state tournament held at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The mayor emphasized the team's dedication, having competed in six local and regional competitions since December 2024, and their impressive results, including a fifth-place finish at the College of DuPage regional competition, which secured their bid to the state tournament.

During the state tournament, the Lisle High School Science Olympiad team excelled, medaling in 10 out of 23 events and achieving a score that was 36 points lower than the second-place team. This significant accomplishment underscored the team's knowledge and skills in various scientific disciplines.

Mayor Pisac concluded the proclamation by extending congratulations to the team, their coach, Herb Anderson, and the entire Lisle Lions community for their exceptional achievement.
