Millbrae honors Officer David D. Chakuti on 27th anniversary of his death

The Millbrae City Council held its regular meeting on April 22, 2025, where several key topics were discussed, including a remembrance event and community engagement opportunities.

City Manager provided an overview of upcoming events, highlighting that April 25 marks the 27th anniversary of Officer David J. Giacuti's tragic death. Officer Giacuti was killed in the line of duty on April 25, 1998, while assisting a colleague from the San Bruno Police Department. A remembrance ceremony will take place at 9 AM on Friday, April 25, in front of the Sheriff's Bureau station on Magnolia, honoring his sacrifice and service to the community.

Additionally, the City Manager announced that the application process for commission and committee recruitment is currently open and will run until May 16. The city is seeking residents who are interested in joining one of the nine available commissions or committees. Participation in these groups allows residents to influence local policies, advise the City Council on various initiatives, and gain valuable experience while contributing to the betterment of Millbrae.
