LSU Lab School students praised for academic achievements at meeting

The recent LSU Board of Supervisors meeting highlighted the impressive achievements of students from the university's laboratory school, underscoring the institution's commitment to educational excellence. The meeting began with a heartfelt invocation led by a senior student, Adam Carruth, who emphasized the importance of guidance and support for the university community.

Dean Roland Mitchell took the opportunity to showcase the laboratory school's accomplishments, noting its ranking as the seventh-best high school in Louisiana out of 558 schools. He praised the dedicated faculty and staff who contribute to the success of the 1,460 students enrolled. The school has also received national recognition as a Blue Ribbon School, a designation awarded to only 297 schools across the country.

Mitchell shared impressive statistics about the graduating senior class, which boasted an average GPA of 3.933 and significant college acceptance rates, including $19 million in scholarships awarded. Adam Carruth, who will be attending West Point, represented the caliber of students at the school, highlighting their involvement in various extracurricular activities and academic programs.

The meeting served not only to celebrate the achievements of the laboratory school but also to reinforce the university's mission to inspire and prepare future leaders.
