In a recent update from the Deer Creek School District, officials provided a progress report on ongoing bond projects that are set to enhance educational facilities in the community. The meeting highlighted the significant advancements made since the bond issue was passed in 2022, with a focus on three major construction projects.
The most notable development is the construction of a second middle school located near the fourth and fifth grade center on Covell. Currently, the school is seeing substantial progress, with sheetrock being installed in classrooms and groundwork being laid for surrounding roads and tennis courts. This project is on track for completion by next year, with plans for the school to open for the 2026-27 academic year.

This upgrade aims to provide more space for students, including additional restrooms and a larger serving area, addressing long-standing needs within the school. Similarly, Deer Creek Elementary is also undergoing cafeteria enhancements, which will allow for improved dining conditions for students. Although the renovations at Deer Creek Elementary are not as advanced as those at Veil, both cafeterias are expected to be fully operational for the upcoming school year.
District officials expressed gratitude for the patience and flexibility of students, parents, and staff during this transition period, particularly as lunch services have temporarily been held in gymnasiums due to ongoing construction.
As these projects progress, they promise to significantly improve the educational environment for Deer Creek students, reflecting the community's commitment to investing in its schools. The district looks forward to the completion of these projects and the positive impact they will have on student experiences.
