Advocates push for funding to enhance domestic violence and animal welfare programs in Los Angeles

Los Angeles City officials are urged to prioritize funding for critical social services following a recent budget hearing that highlighted pressing community needs. Advocates from various organizations presented compelling cases for increased financial support for emergency shelters, animal welfare programs, and immigrant protection initiatives.

One of the most significant appeals came from representatives of domestic violence shelters, who emphasized the importance of fully funding the Community Initiative for Domestic Violence (CIFD) and related survivor services.
