Del Norte County DHHS introduces five new employees to enhance social services

New Faces Join Del Norte County Health and Human Services Team

In a vibrant introduction at the recent Board of Supervisors meeting, Del Norte County welcomed several new employees to its Health and Human Services (HHS) department. Megan McGlasson, a program manager at Behavioral Health, introduced Diane Johnson, who is rejoining the same-day crisis team, and Rebecca Melvin, a new certified peer support specialist on the mobile crisis team. McGlasson expressed her excitement about the opportunity to work in her hometown, stating, "This is an awesome opportunity."

Dorothy Wadlow, deputy director for the Social Service Branch at HHS, also introduced three new team members: Shannon Reed, an ICW for the Public Assistance Branch with a background in psychology; Holly Moretti, a social services aide with extensive experience; and Ruby Grubbs, another ICW with a degree in criminal justice and previous social work experience. Wadlow emphasized the team's enthusiasm about these new additions, highlighting their diverse backgrounds and expertise.

The meeting also included a brief session for agenda adjustments, but no new items were added. As the county continues to grow its workforce, these new hires are expected to enhance the services provided to the community, reflecting a commitment to improving health and social support in Del Norte County.
