South Valley Pride Day showcases local schools and community support initiatives

Under the vibrant sun of Bernalillo County, excitement filled the air as the South Valley Pride Day Parade unfolded, showcasing the spirit and unity of the community. The parade, a celebration of local pride and diversity, featured a lively array of participants, from enthusiastic school cheer teams to dedicated community organizations.

Among the highlights were the cheer teams from Adobe Acres and Kit Carson Elementary, whose spirited performances captivated the crowd. These young athletes, ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade, donned striking turquoise uniforms, embodying the pride of their schools and the South Valley community. The Rio Grande High School football team, under the leadership of Coach Christopher Smalls, showcased their hard work and dedication, alongside their newly established powerlifting program.
