Shorewood High School mock trial team advances to state after regional victory

In the heart of Shorewood, excitement buzzed through the air as the Shorewood School District gathered for its latest meeting on February 11, 2025. The atmosphere was charged with pride as district leaders showcased the remarkable achievements of students and staff, highlighting the essence of excellence that defines their community.

The meeting kicked off with a celebration of the Shorewood High School mock trial team, who recently clinched the Wisconsin Bar mock trial regional championship and are set to advance to the state competition in March. As the meeting progressed, the spotlight turned to National School Counseling Week, honoring the invaluable contributions of school counselors. Leaders expressed deep gratitude for the efforts of Scott Brown, Jennifer Radcliffe, Molly Norris, Julie Wells, Catherine Harrison, and Marissa Motner. These professionals play a crucial role in guiding students through academic and career planning while also providing essential mental health support.

The celebration continued with a nod to the Shorewood High School boys swim and dive team, who had a fantastic season culminating in the Woodland Conference championships. This achievement underscored the growth of the recreational programs, thanks in part to the efforts of Justin Calvert from the recreation department.
