Cornwall Central High School honors student musicians Christian Green and Hunter Olsen

The Cornwall Central School District (CCSD) Board of Education meeting on April 7, 2025, celebrated the remarkable achievements of student musicians, highlighting the district's commitment to fostering musical talent and excellence. The meeting served as a platform to honor students who have excelled in various prestigious music programs, underscoring the importance of music education in the community.

Among the notable recognitions was Christian Green, a student from Cornwall Central High School (CCHS), who was selected for the New York State Band Director's Association's honor jazz ensemble. This ensemble is highly competitive, with only 18 musicians chosen from across the state. Green's accomplishment as the first tenor saxophone player marks a significant achievement, as he was one of only two tenor saxophonists in the group. Additionally, he was recognized as an all-state alternate for the second consecutive year, showcasing his dedication and talent.

Hunter Olsen, another standout from CCHS, was selected for the 2024 All State Wind Ensemble, performing as one of six trombonists in the highest wind ensemble in New York State. His participation in the All State concert at Kodak Hall in Rochester reflects the culmination of years of hard work and practice, further emphasizing the high standards of musical education within the district.
