The Stevens Point Area Public School District's recent meeting highlighted the achievements of SPASH students as they wrapped up their first quarter of the school year. The meeting, held on April 29, 2025, showcased a range of accomplishments in sports, music, and community service.
SPASH students celebrated a successful first quarter, which concluded on November 5, 2024. The school community engaged in various activities, including homecoming events, sports seasons, and musical performances. As the new quarter began, students were already making strides in athletics, particularly in basketball, with tryouts for both boys and girls teams taking place.

Subscribe for Free Notably, the SPASH boys cross country team defended their state title, winning their third consecutive championship. Senior Ethan Olds and junior Cooper Erickson played pivotal roles, finishing fourth and ninth, respectively. Additionally, Ethan Oates earned a spot at the Nike Cross Regionals after a strong performance at the Nike Heartland Regional Championship.
The SPASH girls swimming team also excelled, winning their conference meets and defending their title as sectional champions for the fourth consecutive year. Several swimmers qualified for the state competition, showcasing their talent in various events.
In football, the season concluded positively, with players participating in community service by raking yards for United Way. The boys soccer team celebrated individual honors, while the SPASH PAHN dance team performed well at their first competition, securing first and second place in their categories.
Beyond athletics, SPASH students demonstrated their commitment to community service through a successful pickleball tournament organized by the FCCLA, raising over $900 for membership fees. The FFA also celebrated a national championship achievement.
The meeting underscored the vibrant extracurricular life at SPASH, with the school’s music programs hosting concerts and events that support the athletic teams. The next jazz concert is scheduled for tomorrow night, further enriching the school’s cultural offerings. Overall, the meeting reflected a strong sense of community and achievement among SPASH students.
