Ben Franklin Junior High teacher Anna Lam receives Bliss Award for educational excellence

The Bliss Award took center stage at the recent Stevens Point Area Public School District meeting, celebrating the exceptional contributions of staff members dedicated to educational excellence. Named after Mandanna Hale Bliss, the district's first school teacher, the award highlights the unwavering commitment of educators who inspire students daily.

During the meeting, English teacher Anna Lam from Ben Franklin Junior High was honored for her outstanding teaching. Ninth-grade student Nora Langenhan spoke passionately about Mrs. Lam's impact, describing her classroom as a joyful environment where learning is engaging and students feel valued. Langenhan emphasized Mrs. Lam's kindness, her ability to make every student feel heard, and her supportive nature, stating, "With Mrs. Lam, it feels like you could talk to her about anything."
