Assemblymember Wilson introduces AB 697 for urgent improvements to Highway 37 corridor

Residents of Solano County and the broader Bay Area are set to benefit from significant mobility improvements following the Assembly Business and Professions Committee's approval of Assembly Bill 697 during a recent meeting. This bill aims to address the notorious bottleneck along State Route 37, which currently hampers commutes between Vallejo and Marin County, often adding over an hour to travel times.

Assemblymember Wilson, who presented the bill, highlighted the urgent need for improvements along this critical corridor. The existing two-lane highway narrows to one lane over a ten-mile stretch, making it unreliable for both commuters and transit services.
