Delta Airlines celebrates 99 years in Los Angeles and community contributions

Los Angeles County celebrated Delta Airlines' significant contributions to the community during the Board of Supervisors meeting on April 29, 2025. The airline was recognized for its century-long service in Los Angeles, with plans to commemorate its 100th anniversary next year.

Supervisor Hahn highlighted Delta's philanthropic efforts, noting that in 2024, the airline and its customers raised $18 million for various charities, including the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. Delta's commitment to community service was further exemplified by their recent donation of $1 million for wildfire relief efforts in the Greater Los Angeles area and the construction of a new playground at Trader Park in Bell.

Scott Santore, representing Delta, expressed pride in the airline's legacy and its dedicated workforce of 100,000 employees worldwide. He also announced a 4% raise for Delta employees, emphasizing the company's ongoing commitment to its staff and the community.

The meeting concluded with the Board of Supervisors presenting an official proclamation to Delta Airlines, celebrating its impactful history and contributions to Los Angeles. This recognition underscores the importance of corporate responsibility and community engagement in fostering a supportive environment for residents.
