Horsham High School music program showcases student achievements and Washington trip experiences

In a vibrant gathering at the Horsham High School auditorium, the HHSD School Board meeting on April 28, 2025, showcased the remarkable achievements of students and the dedication of educators. The evening began with heartfelt praise for student presenters from Crooked Billet Elementary School, who demonstrated the essential skills of future teachers. Their leadership and supportive spirit were acknowledged as vital contributions to the community.

As the meeting progressed, the spotlight shifted to the high school’s music department, led by choir director Charlie Masters and band director Eric Westcott. They shared an inspiring overview of a recent trip to Washington, D.C., where 60 students engaged in a unique blend of music and history. The trip included a music clinic at South Hagerstown High School, visits to significant cultural sites like the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and a performance by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center.
