In the heart of Lynbrook, excitement filled the air as the Burns Seidman Gallery opened its doors for the annual senior portfolio preparation show. This showcase, a culmination of hard work from students in the visual arts program, highlighted the creativity and dedication of young artists under the mentorship of Mr. Sena. Each piece of artwork represented not just a personal journey but also a stepping stone toward college applications, where students vie for talent scholarships from prestigious programs. This year, the students collectively garnered over $1.2 million in scholarship offers, bringing the department's impressive 25-year total to more than $17.3 million.
As the evening unfolded, the spotlight shifted to the achievements of the Horizon newspaper staff, who celebrated their recent accolades from the New York Press Association. With a third-place finish for best overall newspaper and individual awards for standout stories and photography, the students showcased their journalistic prowess, further enriching the school’s legacy of excellence.

Notably, the club celebrated its first-ever lieutenant governor from Lynbrook, Jessica Skrohofer, and the appointment of Katie Gottlieb as executive assistant for the New York District, marking a historic moment for the school.
In a vibrant display of entrepreneurial spirit, Lynbrook High School recently hosted over 1,000 students for the second annual virtual enterprise trade show. Here, young entrepreneurs pitched their business ideas, showcasing skills that are increasingly vital in today’s job market. Two teams from the school excelled, winning gold medals in various categories and advancing to the national competition at the Javits Center, where they ranked among the top 22 in the country.
The meeting also celebrated the success of the girls' basketball team, who achieved an undefeated conference championship, uniting the community in pride and support. The coaches and players were commended for their hard work and the spirit they brought to the school.
