Quincy City Council approves special permits for 2025 Quincy Pride and Kilroy Square Market

The Quincy Board of License Commissioners convened on April 29, 2025, to discuss several key agenda items, primarily focusing on upcoming community events and their associated permits.

The meeting began with a presentation regarding the 2025 Quincy Pride event, scheduled for Sunday, June 8, from noon to 4 PM at Pageant Field. The setup for this year’s event will mirror previous years, with beer and wine sales located in a designated area. Food trucks will be positioned near the bathrooms, while vendors will occupy the grassy areas for attendees to enjoy. The Quincy Police Department will provide security, alongside potential private security measures. Following this, the board addressed a request from Widow Makeup Brewery and the Quincy Chamber of Commerce for a special use permit for a one-day liquor license for the annual Kilroy Square Farmer's Market beer garden. This year marks the fourth iteration of the event, which runs from May 15 through September 27, with specific hours for the beer garden. Notably, the organizers have partnered with local restaurants instead of food trucks to enhance community support. Additionally, the Chamber of Commerce plans to introduce new programming, including fitness workouts, live music, and children's storytelling, to attract more visitors to the farmer's market.
