In a recent City Council meeting in Grass Valley, the primary focus was on the Condon Park Skatepark Project Design Process Review. This project, aimed at enhancing the local skateboarding facilities, has been in development since November 2023 when the city issued a request for proposals for design-build services. After evaluating three qualified applicants, Grindline was selected to lead the project.
The process has included several community engagement efforts. A kickoff meeting with Grindline took place on April 17, 2024, followed by a community meeting that attracted around 40 to 50 attendees. This meeting was complemented by an online survey to gather further input from residents. A second community meeting on June 26, 2024, showcased preliminary design concepts, which were well-received. By July 27, 2024, Grindline submitted the final conceptual design, which received no comments from the community skate working group, leading to approval on September 13, 2024.
