Medina Valley ISD celebrates Girls on the Run program and honors student athletes

During the recent Regular Board Meeting held on April 28, 2025, the Medina Valley Independent School District celebrated the impactful Girls on the Run program, which has been fostering health, confidence, and empowerment among young girls in the community.

The program, now in its second season, combines physical activity with social-emotional learning, culminating in a 5K event that encourages participants to embrace their strength and voice. A teacher who played a pivotal role in launching the program shared her enthusiasm for bringing this initiative to the district, highlighting its importance in shaping young women’s lives.

The program not only promotes fitness but also equips girls with essential life skills to navigate challenges they face in school and beyond. The teacher emphasized the program's focus on building confidence and community among participants, creating a supportive environment where girls can thrive together.

At the meeting, two standout participants, Marley Martin and Hayden Brawley, were honored for their achievements in the program. Their recognition underscored the program's success in empowering young girls and fostering a sense of accomplishment.

As the Girls on the Run program prepares for its upcoming 5K event in just four weeks, the district remains committed to supporting initiatives that enhance the well-being and development of its students.
