Residents of Ross can look forward to significant improvements in accessibility and aesthetics at a local facility following the recent Advisory Design Review Group meeting. Key decisions were made regarding the renovation of the Livermore building and surrounding areas, aimed at enhancing both functionality and visual appeal.
One of the primary updates includes the installation of new restrooms and the replacement of an existing celebration platform, which has been deemed inaccessible due to its height and non-compliant ramp. The plan involves lowering and slightly rotating the platform to create a compliant path of travel, ensuring that an accessible parking space will be available for visitors. This change is expected to facilitate direct access to the building, making it more user-friendly for all community members.
The Livermore building itself is set for a remodel that seeks to restore its mid-century modern aesthetic, which has been compromised by previous renovations. The project will involve removing an existing awning and replacing standard aluminum storefront windows with designs that better reflect the building's original style. Additionally, large bifold doors will be installed to enhance the structure's functionality.
To further improve security and accessibility, a sliding gate will be added to the arc fence surrounding the area. This gate will allow the site to be closed off at night while maintaining an open and welcoming atmosphere during the day.
These enhancements not only aim to improve the physical space but also reflect the community's commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all residents and visitors. As these projects move forward, the Town of Ross is poised to offer a more accessible and aesthetically pleasing community hub.
