OCNR hosts successful trunk or treat event and recognizes board volunteers

Under the warm glow of the Orange City School District meeting room, a sense of community and gratitude filled the air as board members and attendees reflected on recent events that brought joy and engagement to the district. The evening began with heartfelt thanks to the organizers of the recent trunk or treat event, which saw a remarkable turnout. “It was a great, great turnout as usual,” one board member noted, expressing appreciation for the volunteers who helped ensure that every last piece of candy was given away, marking the event as a resounding success.

The camaraderie continued as board members recognized the efforts of two of their own, Rebecca and Angela, who played pivotal roles in spearheading the campaign for a permanent improvement levy. Their dedication was acknowledged with gratitude, highlighting the importance of community involvement in educational initiatives.

The spotlight then shifted to the Orange High School thespians, who recently dazzled audiences with their performance of "Peter and the Starcatchers." Under the guidance of directors Wendy, Caroline, and Ryan, the production featured four shows that captivated attendees. The innovative use of digital ticketing, managed by Carol Lake, was also celebrated, showcasing the district's commitment to modernizing the audience experience.

As the meeting progressed, the board reminded everyone of the importance of civic engagement, urging those present to participate in the upcoming vote. “If you haven’t voted, get out and vote tomorrow,” they encouraged, emphasizing the significance of the issues on the ballot.
