The Mifflin County School District held a meeting on May 1, 2025, to discuss important upcoming events and announcements for students and staff.
One of the key topics was the SAT testing scheduled for the same day. Doors will open at 7:30 AM for check-in, with the test starting promptly at 8 AM. Students are reminded to bring their admission ticket, an approved photo ID, the device they will use for testing, an approved calculator, and snacks. It is also advised that students download the Blue Book app from the College Board website before test day. For any questions, students are encouraged to consult their counselors.
In addition, choir lessons were announced for the day, with specific students assigned to periods 3 and 4.
Another important announcement was regarding yearbook orders. A limited number of extra yearbooks have been ordered, and today is the final day to place orders online. After today, students wishing to order a yearbook must pick up an updated order form in Room A 316. Yearbooks will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and inquiries can be directed to Mr. Bridal in Room A 316.
Lastly, the summer session for D and D driving school has been set. Students can pick up a form at either office to sign up for classes, which are open to students under 16. This program aims to teach safe driving strategies and theory.
Seniors were also reminded about the Susan Baker scholarship, available for those planning to enter a nursing program, whether at a four-year or two-year institution, in the fall. Interested students are encouraged to apply.
Overall, the meeting highlighted essential information for students regarding testing, yearbook orders, driving school, and scholarship opportunities, ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming events.
