Mayor Blad proclaims May as Historic Preservation Month in Pocatello

Historic preservation took center stage at the Pocatello City Council meeting on May 1, 2025, as Mayor Brian C. Blad proclaimed May as Historic Preservation Month. This initiative aims to celebrate and protect the rich cultural heritage of Pocatello, emphasizing the importance of historic sites in fostering community identity and pride.

In his proclamation, Mayor Blad highlighted the role of historic preservation in revitalizing neighborhoods and promoting economic and cultural prosperity. Marty Viscart, chair of the Historic Preservation Commission, accepted the proclamation on behalf of the community.
