Muskogee City Council approves water agreement with Ferdinand Technologies for industrial development

Muskogee City Council has taken significant steps towards industrial development in the Port of Muskogee by approving a water and sewage facilities agreement with Ferdinand Technologies LLC. During the special call meeting on April 23, 2025, the council unanimously authorized Mayor Patrick Kale to execute the agreement, which aims to support the infrastructure needs of the new industrial project.

The agreement will provide essential water and sewage services for Ferdinand Technologies, which plans to establish operations at the port. City officials clarified that the water supply will primarily be for the company’s office facilities, with a closed-loop system that minimizes drainage. Any additional water needs will be met through trucking, ensuring that the project remains environmentally responsible.

In a related decision, the council also approved an estoppel certificate for Ferdinand Technologies. This certificate is crucial as it confirms that there are no outstanding contractual obligations between the original parties involved, which is particularly important for large-scale transactions. The estoppel agreement is designed to protect the interests of future buyers and investors by ensuring transparency in contractual relationships.

Local resident Charles Crawford raised concerns regarding the estoppel certificate, questioning its legitimacy and the implications of transferring a county contract to the city. He highlighted that significant work had already been completed on the property before it was annexed into the city limits, suggesting that the city may be assuming financial responsibilities that should remain with the county.
