Gas Company plans pipeline extension along Veterans Parkway amid sewer project

During a recent meeting of the Water Resources Board in Murfreesboro, significant discussions centered around infrastructure developments impacting local sewer and gas lines. Atmos Energy's project involves extending a gas main from a regulator station near Interstate 96 down Veterans Parkway. A key concern raised during the meeting was the gas company's policy against blasting within 30 feet of their gas tanks, which could complicate the installation of the new sewer line. To address this, the Water Resources Board proposed to deepen the sewer line to ensure it remains safely distanced from the gas main. The plan includes deepening the sewer line by up to 22 feet in certain areas to meet the necessary service requirements for the community.
