School Board approves new principals for Larkspur and Cactus View Elementary Schools

In a significant move to enhance educational leadership, the Governing Board approved several key personnel appointments during its regular meeting on May 1, 2025. The board unanimously endorsed the hiring of four new principals, each bringing a wealth of experience and educational qualifications to their respective schools.

Kimberly Kota Wenger was appointed as the Assistant Director of Special Education. Currently serving as an assistant principal, Wenger holds a Bachelor of Science in Cross Categorical Special Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration. Her appointment is expected to strengthen the district's special education programs.

Addison Fimbres, currently an assistant principal at Manzanita Elementary, was approved as the new principal of Cactus View Elementary School. Fimbres has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, positioning her well to lead the school effectively.

Jessica Sexton, who has been serving as the interim principal at Larkspur Elementary, was confirmed as the permanent principal. With her background in elementary education and educational administration, Sexton is set to continue her leadership role without relocating.

Lastly, Maureen Minnick, the current Director of Fine Arts, was appointed as the principal of North Ranch Elementary. Minnick's extensive experience in music education and secondary education will contribute to a well-rounded leadership team within the district.
