The Governing Board of Paradise Valley Unified School District convened for its regular meeting on May 1, 2025, to discuss various topics, celebrate student achievements, and recognize outstanding staff and volunteers.
The meeting began with remarks from board members highlighting recent school events. The meeting transitioned to awards and recognitions, with Dr. Reynolds leading the segment. The Jerry L. Morgan Volunteer Award was presented to Donna Locke for her exceptional service at James P. Lee Child Development Center. Several students were recognized for their achievements in mathematics and science, including Tejas Duleepala and Mantank Parashar, who won scholarships and opportunities to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair.
The board also celebrated the accomplishments of Oliver Horth, a Flynn scholarship recipient, and acknowledged the selection of 11 high school students for the All State Choir and Band Competition. Holly Hunter from Greyhawk Elementary was named Employee of the Month for her dedication as an instructional assistant.
In closing, Dr. Reynolds reiterated the district's commitment to high-quality education and recognized Grayhawk Elementary for achieving Blue Zone certification, promoting healthy habits among students and staff. The meeting concluded with a recognition of the 2025 AIM class, highlighting the district's efforts to cultivate future leaders from within its ranks.
