Owasso students raise $30K for Make A Wish Oklahoma during Oakey Week

Owasso Public Schools is making a significant impact in the community through its annual Oakey Week, which stands for "Owasso Kids Impacting Everyone." This week-long event is dedicated to fundraising for Make-A-Wish Oklahoma, and it has successfully raised over $30,000 since its inception in 2020, despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

During Oakey Week, students participate in various activities, including dress-up days, restaurant nights, and a family fun night at the stadium, where community members can enjoy games, raffles, and concessions. These events not only foster school spirit but also raise awareness and funds for granting wishes to children in need. Each wish costs approximately $7,500, and the efforts of the philanthropy club have enabled the granting of four wishes to local children.

In addition to Oakey Week, the philanthropy club has organized food drives and other fundraising initiatives throughout the year, emphasizing their commitment to giving back to the community.
