Lincoln County educators are set to enhance their teaching skills this June, following the Board's approval of a comprehensive professional development program during the April 29th meeting. The initiative, driven by feedback from a recent survey of teachers, aims to provide targeted training on relevant topics, with sessions scheduled throughout the month.
The program kicks off on June 6 with a full-day training led by renowned educator John Screedy, who brings over 40 years of experience. Following this, Terrence Scott will conduct another all-day session on June 17, focusing on classroom instruction. The training series will also feature Carnegie Coaching for English Language Arts and math, continuing a successful partnership that has spanned five years. The program will conclude on June 20 with a session on Apple Personalized Learning, crucial for the district's transition to a 1:1 technology model where every student has an iPad.

Superintendent Gaines expressed deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication of staff members, emphasizing that their contributions often go unnoticed. The Board also outlined the nomination process for the Service Employee of the Year and Teacher of the Year awards, which involves nominations from faculty and a rigorous evaluation process by a committee.
As the district prepares for these significant training sessions and recognitions, the focus remains on fostering a supportive and effective educational environment for both teachers and students. The upcoming events promise to enhance teaching practices and ultimately benefit the entire Lincoln County community.
